Accessing Canvas LMS

Many of our classes offered at ASU-Newport will either require portions of the course to be accessed throughout the week offsite from the internet. ASU-Newport uses Canvas LMS to house its courses. To access this website please use the instructions below. Some courses may not be available until the first day of term.

First, go to https://MyCampus.asun.edu and click on the “Canvas LMS” link.

A new window should open our SSO authentication page through Office 365. You will log in using your ASU-Newport Login. Example: jon_dole@student.asun.edu and your password. Once logged in, the page will redirect you to ASU-Newport Canvas.

The first screen you should see is a terms of use page. Select the check box and then “Submit” to continue to your courses. If you receive an account not found it may be due to your course not being transferred over. Please allow 24 to 48 hours then try again. If this does not help please email us at its@asun.edu to look into your account.


The next page will be your Canvas Dashboard. Where when term opens your courses will be displayed.

If you want to see courses not in the dashboard due being in different semesters click on the courses icon on the left. The will enable you to access courses that are already taken with ASU-Newport and courses not published. If a course displays not published after the term has started please email your instructor.
